Home Propane
Couch Oil Company added propane (also known as LP) gas to our product line in 1989, and it has been popular with our customers ever since. Propane fuel is valued for being diverse and versatile, from cooking and heating your home to powering everyday appliances. Our team installs propane tanks in new and existing homes, working closely with builders as well as heating and air conditioning companies to ensure the installation of your propane tank is done correctly. We deliver propane gas to your home or office as a one-time fill or on an automatic fill schedule so you don’t ever have to worry about running out.
Storage – Propane is stored very easily, which is one reason why our residential and commercial customers choose it over other types of fuel. Because it can be stored quickly and painlessly, allowing you to prioritize things other than power outages and short circuits. When opting for propane gas, you are in control of your energy source.
Clean Energy – Propane’s environmental safety is another reason why it’s chosen over other types of fuel; it is non-toxic for water and land. This is due to the strict guidelines enforced by organizations such as the National Fire Protection Association. If you do experience an unexpected propane leak, it’s important to know that it will evaporate into the air in a non-harmful manner.
Versatility and Cost – Propane is very versatile and can perform a wide range of residential and commercial functions such as cooking, drying, fueling a fireplace, fueling machinery, and heating garages or offices. This clean-burning fuel provides heat that is 20 degrees warmer as compared to electric heat pumps. Furthermore, propane costs half as much per BTU as electricity and gas fireplaces tend to cost anywhere from 30 to 60 percent less per hour of energy than wood fireplaces. Safety – Rigorous regulations and codes developed by the propane industry and the National Fire Protection Agency ensure that propane is safe and is used responsibly. In addition to these regulations, propane has its own built-in safety features. For instance, it will not ignite when combined with air unless the source igniting it has a Fahrenheit temperature of 940 degrees. And, as it is naturally non-toxic, propane gas poses no threat to soil or water.
Clean Energy – Recognized as a clean source of energy, homeowners have been able to reduce the number of emissions being produced. Since propane is a gas it does not spill, pool, or create residue. Propane also produces 40 times fewer harmful emissions than burning wood.
Efficiency – Known as a clean energy source, propane gas can drastically decrease overall energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions by up to 68 percent. Propane furnaces round out with an annual fuel efficiency of 95 percent or higher, which is tremendously better than electric furnaces. When homeowners are dissatisfied with their heat pump, the common concern is that their house is too drafty, which propane eliminates. If you’re looking for a snug, warm, and exceptionally liveable home, propane is for you! Propane offers not just a heating service but also a sense of comfort and calm that comes with a home that is adequately heated. Electric heaters cost more and are less efficient than propane heaters. The U.S. Department of Energy has even shown that electricity can end up costing twice as much as propane.
Propane Furnace – One of the reasons that homeowners are switching to propane furnaces is because of their longevity. Propane furnaces, on average, last five to ten years longer than their electric counterparts. In addition, propane furnaces operate for a long time, usually over twenty years.
Propane furnaces are also flexible in the sense that they do not need to be connected to municipal gas lines. It is because of this that propane heating systems can be made available to homes in rural areas without gas lines. Propane burns hotter than many fuels, heating the air within your home faster. This, in turn, circulates hot air throughout more effectively.
Propane Boilers – Propane boilers are very effective in cutting down overall energy use, which cuts down the energy bill. This heating system emits 37 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions than electricity and requires less maintenance.
Propane Fireplaces – Propane fireplaces provide a much more effective dispersion of heat than wood fireplaces. It has also been known to burn 40 times as long without the harmful emissions while providing five to six times the heating capacity.
Water Heating – The third-largest energy use in the home is residential water heating. Propane water heaters can reduce your energy bill to half that of electric water heaters. Water heaters also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 60 percent.
Backup (Standby) Generators – Hurricanes and floods can easily result in power disruption that has several repercussions such as spoiled and wasted food and missed alarm notifications. Be prepared for the worst weather conditions with propane-powered backup generators!
